The Jagenberg Group is responding to the ongoing crisis in the global paper industry by discontinuing the business activities of Jagenberg Paper GmbH as of July 31, 2024. The reason for this is the persistently poor market situation in the paper industry, the corresponding business situation of Jagenberg Paper GmbH and an unforeseeable recovery in incoming orders for winders, sheeters and calenders in the short and medium term.

"The paper industry has been in a difficult situation for some time now. Persistently high prices for raw materials, energy and cost-intensive environmental standards as well as a significant drop in demand for graphic paper for newspapers, books or brochures are taking their toll," summarizes Jagenberg AG Executive Board member Dr. Stephan Witt. "Even after focusing on the retrofit sector, the business was not profitable. We therefore feel compelled to reduce operations further and to discontinue them in their current form by the middle of the year. Existing orders and obligations will of course be fulfilled."

The companies of the Jagenberg Group will continue to be available as partners for role-to-role processes. The company Lebbing automation & drives GmbH, Bocholt was and is responsible for tasks and projects in the field of control technology within the Jagenberg Group.

Jagenberg Paper GmbH, based in Krefeld, Germany, is an expert in modernization and servicing of paper finishing machines.
