Juha Vanhainen will join the Board of Directors of Metsäliitto Cooperative, effective 1 January 2026, following his election by the Supervisory Board. His appointment adds a leader with experience as CEO of food company Apetit and from international executive roles at Stora Enso to the governance of the Metsä Group parent company. The decision was confirmed by the Metsäliitto Cooperative Supervisory Board.

The board will see continuity alongside the new addition, as current members Jussi Linnaranta and Mikko Mäkimattila were re-elected for new terms. Vanhainen currently also serves on the boards of Metsä Board and Ponsse. The changes will take effect at the start of the 2026 financial year.
