The Madison's Lumber Prices Index reached $513 per thousand board feet for the week ending 20 March 2026, marking a 2% increase from the previous week's level of $501. The index has gained 3% over the past month, climbing $17 from the $496 level recorded one month ago.
The index is constructed using the same species group as futures markets, including Western Spruce-Pine-Fir, Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir and Hem-Fir. Weighted averages in the calculation are based on North American production volume ratios from recent years.
