Mexican folding carton printer Cartograf plans to extend its new plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico, presently on a production floor of 50,000 square feet to 180,000 square feet. Cartograf decided to invest in equipment from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.

These were also reasons to decide for a Speedmaster XL 162 very large format press and the brand new Speedmaster CX 102 launched at drupa 2012. Particularly the Speedmaster XL 162 state-of-the-art machine equipped with all its peripherals and the logistics system are well thought through and facilitate machine control. Thanks to the integration of prepress and press by Heidelberg Prinect systems, Cartograf benefits from fast makeready times, which guarantee the company a competitive edge.

Cartograf's next step it is planned to include a paper mill into their operation and to process the company's entire paper production on Heidelberg presses.
