PMT to rebuild JSC Volga newsprint PM 6 in Russia

Mar 03, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. PMT has received an order from JSC Volga, Balakhna, Russia, to rebuild its newsprint PM 6. Start up is foreseen in February 2011, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. The extensive rebuild will assure the paper quality improvement onto high international newsprint standard. The scope includes the new PMT M4 Dilution Control Headbox, Fourdrinier, Press and Dryer sections modification and a new Pope Reel. The existing DCS system will be upgraded and the new QCS system with headbox dilution control, moisturizer and calliper control will be installed. The PM 6 will be able to operate up to 1.000 m/min after the rebuild. PMT has recently started up the turn key tissue machine SCA's new plant at Sovetsk, near Tula some 200 kilometers south of Moscow, and with this new order further strengthens its position on the Russian market.
