Siempelkamp to deliver complete MDF plant to Iran

Aug 22, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. In July of this year, a contract was ratified with the customer Neopan Bartar Co., Mashad, Iran concerning the delivery of a complete MDF plant. The plant includes a ContiRoll® 8‘ x 18.8 m continuous press for a daily capacity of approximately 310 cubic meters MDF. At the same time the Siempelkamp Group will supply the resin metering and application system, the dryer and the mat formers as well as the downstream cooling and stacking equipment, the finishing equipment plus sanding machine, and the in-line cut-to-size. According to the contract, parts of the material preparation system, silos and mechanical and pneumatic conveyors will be manufactured in Iran on the basis of plans drawn up by Sicoplan, Belgium, which is also responsible for the engineering of the overall plant. Thanks to this "single source" concept, the customer will receive the necessary process know-how and a guarantee of quality for the final product. The plant will be supplied with debarked wood or wood chips from nearby Russian sources. The MDF produced at the plant is needed for the expanding furniture industry in Iran, which at the moment is heavily dependent on imports. Exports to neighboring countries is also an option, however, given the 8 foot width format. Neopan Bartar is a newcomer to the wood business but already active in other industrial sectors. Construction is scheduled to get underway in March 2006, with start-up planned for the same year.
