The total value of roundwood purchased from Slovenian private forests increased 13.7% in 2025 compared to the previous year, driven by a one-fifth rise in sawlog and veneer log value. The gains reflected higher quantities and average prices for coniferous logs, while non-coniferous log values declined due to lower purchased volumes, according to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia.
Pulpwood purchase values fell 16.7%, and other industrial roundwood values dropped 38.3%. Both coniferous and non-coniferous categories recorded declines, attributed to lower quantities purchased. Wood fuel values decreased 17.6%, with non-coniferous wood fuel values falling while coniferous wood fuel values rose during the period.
