Spain's UIPSA signs remote service contract with Voith Paper

Sep 16, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. At the beginning of the year, Voith Paper Automation delivered an OnView information system for the PM 1 of Union Industrial Papelera S.A. (UIPSA). OnView is able to combine product, process and machine data onto a single platform and therefore gives a clear understanding of process interactions and quality achievements. The papermaker benefits from having the right information at the right time and can analyze the data by using the OnView trending and reporting tools. Now, the company has decided to conclude a service contract with Voith as well. The “Remote Diagnostics” service module will be for the OnView information system and the dilution water control OnQ ModuleJet which is installed on the headbox of the PM 1. The service allows for the remote maintenance of both automation systems at the customer’s request. Thus, a service employee from Voith Paper Automation can log into UIPSA’s systems via an online connection, check the current status and correct any malfunctions or carry out optimizations. Union Industrial Papelera S.A. is located in La Pobla de Claramunt, Spain, which is 60 km southwest of Barcelona. The company produces testliner on the PM 1 at a basis weight range of 100-200 g/m2 and with a capacity of 200 thousand tons per year.
