The Portuguese paper and pulp producer The Navigator Company will implement a price increase of 4% to 7% on all uncoated woodfree (UWF) printing and writing paper products sold in Europe, effective for dispatches from 6 April onwards. The higher end of the range applies to entry-level grades, reflecting ongoing cost pressures across key input categories, according to The Navigator Company.
Rising costs in energy, transportation, essential raw materials for pulp and paper production, and labour have placed sustained pressure on the industry's cost structure. The company cited current disruptions in the energy sector and potential supply chain impacts linked to the Middle East conflict as factors that could necessitate further price adjustments for paper and packaging products in the near term. Navigator stated the increases are necessary to maintain its competitive and environmentally responsible product offerings.
The Navigator Company is an integrated producer of forest, pulp, paper, tissue, sustainable packaging solutions and bioenergy, whose activity is based on state-of-the-art factories worldwide, with cutting-edge technology.
