U.S. total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 14% in October 2025 compared to the same month last year, with inventory levels dropping 2% from September 2025. The decline was reflected across all major categories, including uncoated free sheet, coated free sheet, and mechanical papers, according to the American Forest & Paper Association.
Mechanical paper shipments saw the most significant decrease among the categories. The overall reduction in inventory follows earlier seasonal adjustments and reflects ongoing market trends.
