Valmet will begin change negotiations concerning temporary layoffs for more than 950 employees in Finland, starting 10 November 2025. The negotiations affect the Packaging and Paper business area and the Global Supply unit, with most employees located in Jyväskylä, Tikkurila, and Raisio. The planned measures aim to adjust capacity and improve cost efficiency, according to Valmet.
The negotiations specifically involve the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit and the P&P Manufacturing unit’s machine workshop and foundry in Jyväskylä. The potential temporary layoffs are planned for implementation during the first half of 2026. Valmet employs approximately 6,000 people in Finland and 19,000 worldwide.
