CEPIPRINT and CEPIFINE merge their environmental working groups
Jun 07, 2006. CEPIPRINT and CEPIFINE have merged their environmental working groups (EWG).
Jun 07, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. The Association of European Publication Paper Producers (CEPIPRINT) and the European Association of Fine Paper Manufacturers (CEPIFINE) have merged their environmental working groups (EWG). The decision to have one combined group was taken by the boards of both associations at the start of the year.
The merged EWG met for the first time on May 9, 2006 in Brussels. Participants were able to discuss common issues that are common to both Associations, such as: environmental communications, forestry certification, environmental management systems, deinking/flexo printing, EU Ecolabel, Green Public Procurement, etc.
The group has already established a good working relationship through its cooperation on the Environmental Tools brochure, which was published in 2004. The document outlines environmental topics that are common to both Associations and conveys the positive steps that the industry is taking to minimize environmental impact and support sustainable development.
The next meeting of the group is due to take place in Brussels on October, 24 2006.
