Dec 06, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Seven containers of plywood and lumber from Washington are being shipped to the area of Indonesia hit by the tsunami.
The World Wildlife Fund hopes the donated lumber that was shipped out of Tacoma is the first in a stream of construction material to rebuild homes, schools, hospitals and businesses.
The donated lumber will reduce demand on local forests and help protect the habitat for Sumatran elephants, orangutans and other endangered tropical species.
