Feb 06, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. Louisiana-Pacific Corporation announced on February 5 that it has promoted Mark Fuchs to vice president and general counsel. "Mark is a key member of our senior management team," said CEO Rick Frost. "His leadership and expertise have been instrumental in the success of the legal department as a valued business partner, promoting and protecting LP interests through outstanding business transaction support and litigation management." Fuchs joined LP in May, 2001 from Bullivant Houser Bailey, a west coast regional law firm where he represented directors and officers, corporate boards, insurance companies and product manufacturers in various litigation matters. In January, 2003 he was named LP's general counsel. Fuchs currently sits on the AF&PA General Counsel's Committee. Fuchs holds a B.S. from Lewis and Clark, an MBA from Portland State University and a JD degree from Willamette University. LP also announced that Jeffrey Poloway has joined the company in the position of corporate controller, and will also become Principal Accounting Officer effective March 15, 2007. Poloway has held senior financial positions in publicly-held companies during his 27-year career, most recently as vice president of accounting and financial reporting at Fruit of the Loom in Bowling Green, Ky. Poloway is a graduate of the University of Maryland and a certified public accountant.
