Sveaskog’s 4Q 2017 net sales increased by 4% to SEK 1,613 million ($201 million), compared to SEK 1,549 million ($194 million) in the 4Q 2016. Operating profit from continuing operations increased by 2% to SEK 315 million ($39.4 million) in 4Q 2017.

Sveaskog’s 4Q net sales increased by 4%

Sveaskog’s 4Q 2017 net sales increased by 4% to SEK 1,613 million ($201 million), compared to SEK 1,549 million ($194 million) in the 4Q 2016. Total delivery volumes decreased by 1% compared with the corresponding period last year while selling prices increased by an average of 4%, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Operating profit from continuing operations increased by 2% to SEK 315 million ($39.4 million) in 4Q 2017. Higher prices and improved earnings in the seedling operations were offset by lower delivery volumes from Sveaskog’s own forests. In addition, the result for the quarter was negatively affected by a SEK 25 million ($3.1 million) provision to a restructuring reserve.

Profit for the 4Q 2017 increased by 24% and amounted to SEK 360 million ($45 million), compared to SEK 291 million ($36.4 million) in the 4Q 2016.

FY 2017 net sales increased by 5% to SEK 6,206 million ($776 million). Total delivery volumes increased by 1% compared with the corresponding period last year and selling prices increased by an average of 3%.

Operating profit from continuing operations increased by 11% to SEK 1,248 million ($156 million) in 2017. Profit for the year increased by 14% and amounted to SEK 1,359 million ($170 million) in January-December 2017.
