Gilles Van Nieuwenhuyzen will retire as Chief Executive Officer of the Lecta Group on 30 April, following the successful recapitalisation of the group and its division into three operationally and financially separate companies. The announcement comes as the 67-year-old executive steps down after navigating significant market, energy and geopolitical volatility during his tenure.
With the split finalised, the group CEO role will be eliminated. Each of the three new companies will have its own chief executive.
Corrado Lignana leads Garda Group, which includes Fine Papers and Distribution.
Ricard Balart, who has headed Adestor Self-Adhesives since 2022, continues in that role.
Ruben Hernando will serve as interim CEO of Specialties, comprising Torraspapel, starting 1 May, with a permanent CEO to be announced later.
Lecta is a multinational group with 2,700 employees and six mills in Spain and Italy with a production capacity of approximately 1.6 million tons.
