The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.72% as of July 10, 2025, up from 6.67% the previous week and down from 6.89% a year ago, according to Freddie Mac.
The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.86%, rising from 5.80% last week and falling from 6.17% at the same time in 2024.
Home purchase applications rose 25% and refinance applications rose 56% year-on-year after five consecutive weeks of declines reversed by a stronger than expected jobs report, Freddie Mac’s Chief Economist Sam Khater said.
