The average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage edged up to 6.00% as of March 5, 2026, from 5.98% the prior week and was down from 6.63% a year earlier, according to Freddie Mac.
The average 15-year fixed-rate mortgage is 5.43%, down from 5.44% the prior week and down from 5.79% a year earlier.
