6th Russian Forest Industry Lesprom Awards organization committee started to receive applications

Feb 17, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. 6th Russian Forest Industry Lesprom Awards organization committee started to receive applications for the award, as said in the press release of the organization committee. Applications are received from timber industry companies and journalists following the results of 2008 in the following nominations:

  •   The fastest growing pulp & paper company
  •   The fastest growing furniture company
  •   The fastest growing housing construction company
  •   The most successful strategy of the year
  •   The best timber processing enterprise representing small & medium business
  •   The best furniture producer representing small & medium business
  •   The best pulp & paper equipment supplier
  •   The best timber processing equipment supplier  
  •   The investment project of the year
  •   The innovational project of the year
  •   The most active participant of Lesprom Network
  •   Award for particular contribution in environmental conservation
  •   Award for effective forest management
  •   The most informationally transparent company

There also will be awards for people who contributed most of all in the development of Russian forest industry in 2008. Among personal nominations are:

  •  CEO of the year
  •  PR Director / Press Secretary of the year
  •  Marketing / Sales Director of the year
  •  CFO of the year
  •  COO / Technical Director of the year
  •  Journalist of the year
The jury of the award comprises: Head of the Natural Resources & Ecology Committee of State Duma Natalia Komarova, President of Russian Association of Forest Equipment Producers (Roslesmash) Nikolai Eremeev, Nature Conservation Policy Director of the World Wildlife Fund (Russian Affiliate) Evgeniy Shvartz, President of the Confederation of Associations of Forest, Pulp & Paper, Timber and Furniture Enterprises Valeriy Saikovskiy, Development Director of Arkhangelsk pulp & paper mill Natalia Pinyagina, Head of the Board of Mondi Syktyvkar Rinat Starkov, President of Global Edge Group Mikhail Livshitz, Director of Prime-TASS information agency Oleg Ananyev, Editor-in-chief of Rosfinkom information agency Konstantin Kazenin.

The Head of the jury is the Director of the Federal Forest Agency of Russia Alexei Savinov.

The ceremony of the 6th Russian Forest Industry Lesprom Awards will take place on April 17, 2009, in Le Royal Meridien National Hotel, Moscow. The ceremony will be attended by state authorities, representatives of largest Russian and foreign forest industry companies, and journalists. The award ceremony is sponsored by Mondi Syktyvkar.
