84 Lumber, one of the largest private companies in the U.S., will establish its second component plant in Clarendon County, South Carolina. The investment of $13.4 million is expected to generate 78 new jobs, according to the South Carolina Department of Commerce. This new facility, located at 2678 Ram Bay Road in Manning, will focus on floor and roof truss manufacturing. It aims to serve key markets in coastal areas such as Savannah, Charleston, and Myrtle Beach.

Founded in 1956, 84 Lumber supplies building materials and offers services for residential and commercial construction. The company operates 320 facilities nationwide. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits for the project, while Clarendon County will receive a $200,000 grant to assist with infrastructure improvements.

Key state officials, including Governor Henry McMaster and Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III, praised the company's investment, highlighting its contribution to the local economy and job creation.
