Both companies are wholesale distributors of packaging materials, janitorial supplies, food service disposables, safety supplies and office products, servicing customers across a broad spectrum of market segments.
“The acquisition allows American Paper & Twine to expand service areas throughout northern Alabama and northern Mississippi, including The Shoals- an area in northwestern Alabama that encompasses the cities of Florence, Tuscumbia, Sheffield, Leighton and Muscle Shoals,” said David Morris, American Paper & Twine Co. CFO.
Paper and Chemical Supply Co.’s President David Muhlendorf will continue to be active in the business. “We are excited to bring together two successful privately owned businesses. It creates a wonderful opportunity for our employees and improves the total value we bring to our customers,” said David Muhlendorf. Paper and Chemical Supply Co. will operate as a division of American Paper & Twine for an interim period as the companies execute an integration plan.
The acquisition continues a period of growth for American Paper & Twine. Over the last two years, existing operations in Memphis and Knoxville were moved into larger facilities and a new distribution center was opened in Atlanta, Georgia.
American Paper & Twine is a leading distributor in certain business product sectors, including janitorial, packaging, disposable food service and office supplies.
