The Government of Canada will provide over $4 million to Atlas Engineered Products Ltd. through the Investments in Forest Industry Transformation program for a new wood manufacturing facility in Clinton, Ontario. The plant will use robotics to raise precision and efficiency, cut waste and produce wood trusses for the construction supply chain, according to Natural Resources Canada.

Atlas Engineered Products is a Canadian company based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, with operations across British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and New Brunswick. The new Ontario facility is set to add capacity for high-value building materials made in Canada.

The federal program backs projects that move new products and processes in the forest sector from development to commercial use. The release says the support is part of a wider effort to expand production of advanced wood products and strengthen domestic supply for housing and infrastructure.
