At the end of October this year, the company NEPCon will conduct an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) audit on all forest areas which are rented by Swedwood Karelia. They will screen the forest management and the Chain of Custody, as Forest-Karelia reported.
Auditors will check how the company follows standards of FSC certification in the forests of Kalevala and Kostomucksha forestry areas. It is noteworthy, that auditing of forest management and the Chain of Custody of Swedwood Karelia will happen in parallel with an inspection by the Accreditation Services International (ASI). Experts of the ASI will check the work of the Forest certification organization NEPCon. They will do that on behalf of FSC.
Swedwood Karelia is a daughter company of the Swedish timber concern Swedwood, which is part of the IKEA group.
