August Faller KG completes purchase of A.C. Schmidt GmbH

Aug 27, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Pharmaceutical packaging specialist August Faller KG is taking over the Danish manufacturer of folding cartons A.C. Schmidt. Like Faller, A.C. Schmidt specialises in the manufacture of pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging. Purchasing A.C. Schmidt helps Faller increase its strategic development of the market in Scandinavia, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network. A.C. Schmidt will add Faller's product range to its portfolio, and together the two companies plan to expand their presence in Northern Europe. Business activities at A.C. Schmidt's Hvidovre site near Copenhagen will be further developed under the leadership of its existing management team, according to Dr. Daniel Keesman, managing partner of August Faller KG. “Together with the Faller Pharma Service Centres, we will expand our product portfolio in Northern Europe, and in the future we will also offer leaflets and adhesive labels, in addition to folding boxes,” Keesman says. “The synergies we can achieve with the pharmaceutical know-how of Faller will take us a significant step forward in the Northern European market,” adds Soren Slotsaa, CEO of A.C.
