US President Joe Biden announced the ban on Russian-affiliated ships from American ports as another critical step to deny Russia the benefits of the international economic system that it enjoyed in the past. Biden delivers remarks on the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the Roosevelt Room of the White House on Thursday.
"No ship that sails under the Russian flag or that is owned or operated by Russian interests will be allowed to dock in a United States port or access our shores." Biden said in remarks.
"This is yet another critical step we’re taking in concert with our partners in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada to deny Russia the benefits of the international economic system that they so enjoyed in the past." he said.
