Brazil’s plywood exports increased 7% year-on-year from January to July 2024, reaching 1,452 thousand m3, according to Lesprom Analytics. The export value rose 14% to $489 million, while the average price climbed 6% to $337 per m3.
The United States accounted for 33% of Brazil's plywood exports, maintaining its position as the largest importer. Mexico followed with 9.5%, the United Kingdom at 9.1%, and Germany at 8.6%. The United States imported 481 thousand m3, marking a 22% increase, valued at $171 million, also up 22%, with an average price of $356 per m3, a slight increase of 0.4%. Mexico imported 139 thousand m3, a 6% decrease, valued at $44 million, a 5% increase, with an average price of $315 per m3, an 11% rise. The United Kingdom imported 133 thousand m3, a 13% decrease, valued at $42 million, a 6% decrease, with an average price of $313 per m3, a 9% increase. Germany imported 125 thousand m3, a 8% increase, valued at $39 million, a 20% increase, with an average price of $308 per m3, an 11% rise.
Other notable changes included Italy’s imports, which surged by 44% in volume and 59% in value, and Puerto Rico’s imports, which grew by 51% in volume and 53% in value.
