China’s factory PMI slips 0.3 point to 49.0 in February

China’s official manufacturing purchasing managers’ index is 49.0 in February, down 0.3 point from January, while the non-manufacturing business activity index is 49.5, up 0.1 point, and the composite PMI output index is 49.5, down 0.3 point, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

Large manufacturers post a PMI of 51.5, up 1.2 points from January. Medium-sized manufacturers post 47.5, down 1.2 points, and small manufacturers post 44.8, down 2.6 points.

The production index is 49.6, down 1.0 point, and the new orders index is 48.6, down 0.6 point. The raw material inventories index is 47.5, up 0.1 point, the employment index is 48.0, down 0.1 point, and the supplier delivery time index is 49.1, down 1.0 point.

In non-manufacturing, the construction business activity index is 48.2, down 0.6 point, and the services business activity index is 49.7, up 0.2 point. The figures show accommodation and catering and culture, sports and entertainment above 60.0, while capital market services and real estate are below 50.0.

Non-manufacturing new orders are 45.2, down 0.9 point, while the input prices index is 50.9, up 0.9 point. The sales prices index is 48.8, unchanged, the employment index is 46.0, down 0.1 point, and the business activity expectations index is 55.0, down 1.0 point.
