Chinese Lumber Carrier Sinks Off Okinawa - 2 Injured-Kyodo
A Chinese-registered lumber carrier sank Sunday morning in the Pacific Ocean south of Naha, Okinawa, with all of its 28 Chinese crew members rescued but two injured, Japan Coast Guard officials said, the Kyodo news agency reported.

The JCG received a report from the operating company of the 4,682-ton Fei Yun Ling that it had sunk around 8:45 a.m. Sunday about 270 kilometers south of Naha, Kyodo reported.
Another Chinese-registered freighter nearby rescued the crew members, the officials said, according to the agency.
JCG aircraft reached the scene around 10:30 a.m. and found a lifeboat as well as a large amount of timber floating around, but was unable to locate the ship, they said, according to Kyodo.
The lumber ship was on its way to Shanghai after being loaded with timber from Papua New Guinea, Kyodo reported.
