Czech Mayr-Melnhof Holz Paskov sales up to CZK 2.1 billion in 2005

Czech Mayr-Melnhof Holz Paskov, owned by Austrian firm Mayr-Melnhof Holz Gruppe and operating a wood processing plant in Paskov, doubled sales from its products and services to CZK 2.1 billion ($94.2 million) last year, CTK reported quoting commercial bulletin. After-tax profit stood at some CZK 204 million ($9.1 million), down CZK 27 million ($1.2 million) from 2004. Operating profit fell to CZK 177 million ($7.9 million) from CZK 212 million ($9.5 million) but value added grew by CZK 52 million ($2.3 million) to CZK 409 million ($18.3 million). Total assets were worth CZK 2.4 billion ($107.6 million) last year, share capital stood at CZK 360 million ($16.1 million) and loan capital at CZK 1.3 billion ($58.3 million).
Austrian firm Mayr-Melnhof Holz Gruppe opened the sawmill on the premises of the firm Biocel Paskov in May 2004. The investment into the plant to employ 220 people reached some CZK 2 billion ($89.7 million). The sawmill is the biggest one in the Czech Republic. The owners say that the sawmill should process up to one million cubic meters of logs annually.
