Jan 26, 2009. /Lesprom.com/. A two-week shutdown at the Domtar Corporation mill is being attributed by the company to slumping market conditions. More than 100 employees at Espanola's, Canada, pulp and paper mill will be out of work for the next couple of weeks, informed Lesprom Network according to The Daily Press . Domtar, which employs more than 11,000 in North America, is the largest manufacturer of uncoated freesheet paper on the continent and one of the largest pulp and paper producers in the world. The temporary shutdown pales in comparison to previous job cuts at the Espanola mill in the last three years.
