At the Egger plant in Lexington, North Carolina, a greenfield particle board system with a forming and pressing line made by Siempelkamp produced its first board.

The project between Egger and Siempelkamp, who have been partners for many years, is being managed under the name “Columbus”. The new particle board system contains the continuous 10’ x 43.7 m ContiRoll® press and was put into operation at the Egger site in Lexington, making it the 15th ContiRoll® in operation at an Egger facility. The scope of delivery also included two dryers from Siempelkamp's subsidiary Büttner, along with size-reduction technology from Siempelkamp's subsidiary Pallmann.

The Lexington site – the 20th Egger plant – plays a crucial role in expanding the presence of the internationally leading wood materials manufacturer on the North American market.

Siempelkamp is a system supplier of press lines and complete plants for the wood materials industry, metal forming, and the composite and rubber industries.
