Essity has entered an agreement to acquire Edgewell Personal Care's feminine care business for $340 million, strengthening its position in the North American market. The acquisition includes the brands Carefree, Stayfree, and o.b. in North America and the global rights to the Playtex brand, along with a production facility in Dover, Delaware. The business reported net sales of $261 million for the 12 months ending 30 June 2025, according to Essity.

The purchase price represents an EBITDA multiple of approximately 12.1x, which reduces to 8.3x when including estimated run-rate synergies. The acquired business employs approximately 500 people, with 450 based at the Delaware facility. The transaction is expected to be completed in the Q1 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
