Tommi Sneck, Director of Koskisen’s Sawmill Industry business, has been appointed Chairman of the European Organisation of Sawmills (EOS) as of 27 May 2025. EOS represents the European sawmill industry at the EU level and acts as an advocate for the sector in matters such as forestry, wood products, and sustainable development.

Sneck succeeds Herbert Joebstl, who led EOS for four years.

“My goal is to continue developing the organisation’s work based on the solid foundation already in place, while also guiding the European sawmill industry into the future shaped by both emerging opportunities and challenges. These include the evolving EU initiatives related to land use sector and forestry. At the same time, sawmill industry players must seize the potential of the bio circular economy: Europe is calling for sustainable and resilient value chains and our sector can be at the very heart of this transition,” says Sneck.

Sneck has previously served as Chairman of the Finnish Sawmills Association during the period 2020–2023.

Koskisen is an international wood processing specialist.

Created in 1958, the European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry (EOS) is a Brussels-based non-profit association representing the interests of the European sawmilling sector on European and International level.
