Once the policy had been approved at national level, it was given final approval by the policy and standards unit of FSC International.
The NRA was developed and approved according to current normative requirements for risk assessments, following both the procedure FSC-PRO-60-002 V2-0 and the controlled wood chain of custody standard FSC-STD-40-005 V2-1. The assessment was made for all forest types within the whole country, and for all controlled wood categories. It provides the risk designations to be used by organizations that want to source controlled wood in New Zealand which meets FSC standards.
FSC is a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide.
