Faber Halbertsma Group takes over PAKi Logistics

Jan 27, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Faber Halbertsma Group (FHG) announced the acquisition of PAKi Logistics, the market leader in the pooling of standardised load carriers. Through this acquisition, the family business, based in Eck en Wiel in the Netherlands, strengthens its position in the European market. The acquisition also marks a major milestone in the international growth ambitions of FHG, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. PAKi Logistics, based in Ennepetal, Germany, has for over 35 years been organising – along with more than a hundred specialists, 10,000 pooling stations and more than 2 million pallets, boxes and plastic load carriers – logistic services in the whole of Europe. Faber Halbertsma Group completed the acquisition under a new name, FHG, covering all subsidiaries of the group. As a result, PAKi Logistics will be re-branded FHG PAKi. The re-branding of the whole group will reinforce FHG’s market position as a full-line supplier. FHG sells, hires, repairs and trades pallets and can, depending on the supply chain in which a customer operates, offer a full combination of products and services. In future, all subsidiaries will be recognised by the new FHG logo. Ingrid Faber, CEO of FHG, said: “The takeover of PAKi Logistics is a major step forward in our ambitious growth strategy of further expanding and strengthening our European network. The pooling activities and the expanded network of PAKi Logistics in the European market are a complementary addition to the international pooling activities of FHG. It allows us to offer our full-line services on a wider scale.” FHG is Europe’s largest pallet producer and second largest pallet pooling company. The family business, founded in 1933, comprises 17 subsidiaries operating in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and the UK that produce, hire, repair and trade pallets.
