Apr 02, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Estonia's forestry industry is experiencing strong growth and is making a strong contribution to the economic recovery of the country, it has been revealed. Statistics Estonia announced that Estonia's industrial production was up 5% in February compared to the same period last year, as KMS Baltics reported. In addition, the body reported that output has increased in 9 of 13 sectors, with the electronics industry leading the growth, closely followed by the forestry industry. Martin Arula, CEO of timber processing and sawmills firm Toftan, confirmed that February had been a good month, adding that the forestry industry is optimistic about the prospects for future growth. "Order structure and availability of raw materials is notably better than it was a year ago ... Now sales prices have improved and there is no more shortage of raw materials," he said.
