Frutiger Unternehmungen AG is acquiring a 30% stake in Blumer Lehmann, the leading Swiss timber construction company headquartered in Gossau, Switzerland, with more than 600 employees.

In a two-stage process, Frutiger Unternehmungen AG will acquire a minority stake and work more closely with Blumer Lehmann. A full acquisition of the shares by Frutiger is planned by 2029.

Luc and Thomas Frutiger Co-CEOs said:“This builds on our tradition of timber construction and positions us in the growing timber hybrid construction sector. Demand for timber buildings has increased significantly, and we expect this to continue in the coming years. This opens up an interesting new market that optimally complements our range of services. Frutiger timber construction will be strengthened and gain in importance as a result. For Blumer Lehmann, integration into a family-run Swiss group of companies represents a stable foundation for the future.”
