GL&V’s pulp and paper group acquires intellectual proprietary rights to BTF™ technology
Sep 07, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Groupe Laperriere & Verreault Inc. announces that its pulp and paper group has acquired the intellectual proprietary rights to the BTF™ automatic dilution technology for headboxes (“BTF™”) from a German company. GL&V has held a licence to market and manufacture the BTF™ technology since 1999.
The high-performance BTF™ technology, which is designed for the production of all paper grades, improves sheet formation and produces a higher-quality paper. Easy to install and operate, this technology’s unique features ensure a uniform pressure is applied to the sheet in formation, which results in a higher-quality product, reduces losses and generally increases paper manufacturers’ operating efficiency and flexibility. This technology is one of the most promising on the market by far: the Pulp and Paper Group has sold more than 40 BTF™ systems within the past years, including the two recently awarded contracts for paper manufacturers in the United States and Indonesia, announced in June 2005.
“Acquiring the exclusive rights to manufacture the BTF™ systems completes our previous commercial initiatives and will contribute to optimize the successful strategy we have implemented in recent quarters. This strategy is focused on value-added upgrading services in order to meet the needs of paper manufacturers who are showing a growing trend to upgrade their existing equipment for the production of specialty products,” indicated Richard Verreault, President and Chief Operating Officer of GL&V.
Founded in 1975, GL&V is a world leader in liquid/solid separation technologies used in a large number of industrial, municipal and environmental processes. Through its pulp and paper group, GL&V also specializes in the design and marketing of equipment for various stages of pulp and paper production.
