Georgia-Pacific has agreed to acquire Anchor Packaging, a major U.S. producer of rigid food containers and cling film, from private equity firm TJC, L.P. The transaction includes Anchor's headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, and operations in Arkansas and Wisconsin. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close later this year, according to Georgia-Pacific.

Anchor Packaging, founded in 1963, manufactures products for food service, retail, and food processors. Its portfolio includes Crisp Food Technologies containers and tamper-secure packaging lines such as Safe Pinch and Culinary Tamper Safe. Since 2019, Anchor has operated under TJC, which currently manages $33.2 billion in assets.

David Duncan, executive vice president of Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Group, said the acquisition complements the company’s Dixie business and supports growth in the food-to-go sector. Jeff Wolff, president and CEO of Anchor Packaging, stated the move would enhance supply chain capabilities and innovation.

Georgia-Pacific, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, operates over 150 facilities and employs approximately 30,000 people directly in the U.S. The company’s brands include Dixie, Brawny, and Angel Soft.

Anchor Packaging was advised by RBC Capital Markets and Goldman Sachs, while Georgia-Pacific was advised by Nomura Securities International, Inc.
