Graanul Invest group has finished Osula, Estonia, combined heat and power plant (CHP). It has two grate fired boilers, CHP electrical capacity is 10 MW and heat production capacity is 27 MW. Overall efficiency is 89%, bark and forest chips are used as fuel, the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.


CHP complies to Estonian Grid Code. Plant is able to do a black start and operate without power grid. CHP is unmanned and is operated from Imavere power plant. Osula CHP provides district heating to pellet factory and neighboring sawmill.

Osula CHP is Graanul Invest group’s 6-th biomass fired CHP plant. Graanul Invest group goal is to build CHP-s next to all existing pellet mills.
