Gruppo Cordenons to sell Label and Poster Division
Jul 14, 2005. Gruppo Cordenons, in the frame of its strategy to sharply focus its range of activity, has decided to divest the Label and Poster Division by selling it to Adapack, backed by AtriA Capital Partenaires and at its second acquisition in ten months, for an undisclosed sum.

Gruppo Cordenons, in the frame of its strategy to sharply focus its range of activity, has decided to divest the Label and Poster Division by selling it to Adapack, backed by AtriA Capital Partenaires and at its second acquisition in ten months, for an undisclosed sum.
The divested assets include the PM1 of the Belgian site of Malmedy, fully specialized in the production of wet-strength one side coated label papers and posters, with an annual capacity of more than 50,000 metric tonnes.
The Malmedy mill will continue to house for Gruppo Cordenons SA two other paper machines, PM 10 and PM 7, producing top of the range smooth, laid and colored text and cover, digital and security papers.
With the proceedings of the operation Gruppo Cordenons will be completely focusing on its core activities consisting of text and cover, security papers, digital papers, filtration and saturating papers with a total capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes to be enlarged through internal investments and external growth. Gruppo Cordenons is a leader in surface treated grades such as Stardream, Plike, Natural Evolution, Insize etc.
Gruppo Cordenons is actually making revenues in excess of Euro 150 million in 95 countries and actively targeting acquisitions in Europe, United States and Far East to further strengthening its leading position in the niche markets of interest.
Gruppo Cordenons is a family owned company with head office in Milan, two paper mills in north east Italy (Cordenons and Valsugana) and one in Belgium (Malmedy) and is employing after the divestment 510 people.
