The Austrian HS Timber Group has agreed to acquire 100% of Swedish wood processor Malå Såg AB from Setra Group AB. The transaction, which is pending regulatory approval, will see HS Timber Group take over all employees of the sawmill, which specializes in high-quality northern pine.
Upon completion of its current investment program, the sawmill is set to reach an annual production capacity of 340,000 m3 of kiln-dried and further processed sawn timber. The company also plays a key role in the regional value chain by supplying materials to the pulp industry and local bio-energy producers.
Founded in 1946, Malå Såg sources softwood logs from sustainably managed Swedish forests and sells its products globally.
