In March 2022, the U.S. imports of softwood lumber dipped 5% year-on-year to 3,253 thousand m3. The value of imports upped 4% to $1,390 million. According to Lesprom Analytics, the average price of softwood lumber increased 9% to $427 per m3.

In March, supplies from Germany decreased by 8% to 193 thousand m3, while supplies from Sweden increased by 25% to 91 thousand m3 and those from Brazil gained 32% to 63 thousand m3.
