A total of 5.1 million m3 of roundwood was harvested for industrial use in Finland in November. While the total volume harvested from January to November rose by 3% year-on-year to 55.3 million m3, this monthly figure reflects a 9% decrease compared to the average for the previous five years, according to the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).

Sawlog removals in November amounted to 2.6 million m3, while pulpwood removals totaled 2.5 million m3. Industrial roundwood harvested from non-industrial private forests was 3.9 million m3, down by 5% compared to the previous year. Harvests from forest industry companies' and state-owned forests remained stable at 1.1 million m3. Additionally, 417,000 m3 of energywood was removed, with 63% of it comprising delimbed stems and whole trees.

Hardwood logs also grew by 8%, reaching 1 million m3. Pulpwood harvesting remained steady at 29.6 million m3 but saw mixed performance across categories: hardwood pulpwood decreased by 3%, while both pine and spruce pulpwood were unchanged. Energywood removals increased significantly, climbing 6% year-on-year to 5.4 million m3, a 12% rise compared to the five-year average.
