International Paper plans to acquire North Pacific Paper Company, or NORPAC, from One Rock Capital Partners for $360 million. The transaction will add NORPAC’s paper mill in Longview, Washington, to International Paper’s mill system and remains subject to regulatory approval, International Paper announced.

NORPAC employs about 500 people at the Longview mill and operates 3 paper machines there. The site produces about 1 million tons of containerboard and other paper grades each year.

The mill will increase flexibility in International Paper’s system, reduce costs and expand the company’s ability to supply lightweight recycled containerboard. The company said the deal will strengthen service for customers in the West Coast region.
