Juvencio Maeztu has been appointed CEO and president of Ingka Group, succeeding Jesper Brodin, who departs after 8 years in the role and 30 years at IKEA. Maeztu currently serves as Deputy CEO and has worked within the IKEA organization for 25 years, starting as a store manager in Spain in the early 2000s. He will officially take over on November 5, 2025, while Brodin will remain with the company through February 2026 before transitioning to an advisory role at IKEA Foundation, according to Ingka Group.

Brodin is credited with steering IKEA through a period of transformation into an omnichannel retailer, expanding into new markets and formats, and embedding sustainability deeper into the company’s operations. Maeztu, described by Ingka Group's chairman Lars-Johan Jarnheimer as an experienced and purpose-driven leader, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and emphasized the company’s continued focus on affordability and its role in improving life at home.
