Kalesnikoff Mass Timber formally opened their new 100,000 sq. ft. modular mass timber facility in Castlegar, Canada, to expand their mass timber products for use in multi-story affordable and market housing, schools, workforce housing and other much-needed infrastructure.

The new facility complements Kalesnikoff’s existing Mass Timber operation in nearby South Slocan, adding new products and services including prefabricated wall panels, mass timber modules, trusses and other products designed and manufactured for clients’ unique needs and construction efficiency.

“This new facility represents a significant $30 million investment for Kalesnikoff, and we are thankful to Natural Resources Canada’s (NR Can) Investments’ Forest Industry Transformation program for contributing $3 million to infrastructure and equipment, and to the Province of British Columbia’s Manufacturing Jobs Fund for $6.725 million to help fund the approximately 100 new B.C. jobs that this is creating,” said Krystle Seed, Chief Financial Officer.

Kalesnikoff is a fourth-generation, family-owned, West Kootenay-based company founded 86 years ago to harvest and mill the region’s exceptional timber. Kalesnikoff invested and expanded into mass timber, in 2019, creating North America’s most advanced, vertically integrated, multi-species mass timber manufacturer.
