Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC announces the appointment of two new board members
Dec 01, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. The Board of Directors of Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC appointed John Khabbaz and Martin Quirke as non-executive directors with immediate effect, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
Martin Quirke was until recently the CEO of Bakcell, a leading mobile operator in Azerbajan. He has held several board, executive and operational roles in the telecommunication industry for Cable&Wireless, in Kazakhstan, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Russia. He served as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan from 2002 to 2006.
John Khabbaz is a Managing Director of Witter International, a New York based asset manager, and Fund Manager of the Phoenician Capital LLC, a Global Value Fund part of Witter Group of Funds. He was the Founder and CEO of International Cotton, a major manufacturer of private-label knitwear products which he successfully sold in 2003.

Kazakhstan Kagazy is a major industrial group in Kazakhstan and runs Kagazy Recycling LLP, Central Asia’s largest producer of paper, corrugated board and packaging products, which was established in 2001.
