Keweenaw Land Association sells 14,342-acre conservation easement

Keweenaw Land Association, Limited completes the sale of a 14,342-acre conservation easement to the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network. 

This previously announced transaction closed at a total sales value of $4.34 million, of which $0.40 million will be set aside in an endowment to be used for repairs and maintenance of 16 miles of eased roads on the property. 

The balance of $3.94 million has been wired to Keweenaw. This easement eliminates future development and subdivision of the property but specifically permits forest management activities and timber harvesting.
