Komatsu Forest, a wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd, has agreed to acquire Malwa Forest AB, a Swedish manufacturer specializing in small forestry machines. The transaction is expected to close by April 1, 2026, subject to customary conditions, according to Komatsu.

Founded in 2009, Malwa Forest develops and produces small harvesters and forwarders designed for selective thinning and operations in sensitive terrain.

The acquisition reflects growing demand for lightweight machinery driven by increased environmental requirements and a focus on soil protection. The financial impact on Komatsu's consolidated results is expected to be minimal.

The addition strengthens Komatsu's position across key stages of forest management. Malwa Forest will operate as part of Komatsu Forest's operations, supporting expansion into new markets for the Malwa product line.

Komatsu is one of the world's leading manufacturers of forestry, construction, mining and utility equipment.
